Zimmer knee implant here in the question is Zimmer NexGen LPS-Flex that is implanted to people who require a high degree of flexion in their knee joint. The implant is a must for those who are fond of games like golf and work frequently in garden or hang out with their kids for physical activities and other tasks. The Zimmer knee implant offers increased flexion capacity for those people who want to increase the range of their flexion of joints and other bones.

Why is Flexion Needed?

Flexion is required for many daily activities like twisting and bending your joints and other areas. The flexion of bones determines the ability to bend at the knee and other body joints. It helps people in climbing stairs, standing from a sitting position and some activities sometime require flexion up-to 120 degree. Normally, the knee has a normal range of motion from 0 to 120/140 degrees. Sitting and rising from a sitting position requires between 90 and 110 degrees. Normal walking requires about 70 degrees of flexion. Going down stairs requires about 90 degrees of flexion and going up requires a little less. However, due to growing age and or some life-style related diseases the bone lost its flexion and its ability to bend. In such circumstances devices like Zimmer knee implants helps a lot to people.
