Like every drug, Digitek too comes with its sets of limitations and benefits. In the past few years it has been noted that the side effects with Digitek significantly overshadow its benefits. Just few side effects that have been most commonly noted among patients administering Digitek include:
- Persistent headache
- Feeling of nausea followed by vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Weakness or feeling of dizziness

Changes in vision consisted of blurry vision, decreased acuity in seeing colors and even transient blindness were reported.
Dizziness, headache, weakness were reported in patients who suffered from side effects in the functioning of the CNS or central nervous system.
Disorientation, decreased cognition, memory loss, depression, mood fluctuations were some other psychiatric side effects seen among patients taking Digitek.
Hypersensitivity although rare, but was still present among patients administering Digitek. This was reported in the form of rashes.
Metabolic side effects like hypokalemia, hypercalcemia, hypomagnesia were reported along with cases of developing diabetes mellitus and glucose intolerance.
Weight loss, loss of appetite, sleep disorders were also reported among patients taking Digitek.
Side effects that were most commonly noted in patients taking Digitek were among those who were taking the double dose as compared to the prescribed concentration. Several cases of patients who have experienced severe health complications in the form of stroke or heart attack that may have incurred due to digoxin overdose were reported.
